10.08.09 | Twenty-three days until 10K
We are just twenty-three days away from the big $10,000 drawing on Halloween! Who’s excited? Who’s pumped? Who wants to jump for joy? I can’t even win the mucho but I am still excited!!
We’re thinking about having the next 10K winner video a :30 second snip it saying how much they love us and what they plan to do with the money. The winners page is cool, with all the testimonials, but we still get people emailing us saying, “Are you guys for real? Is this a scam?” I’m not sure what else to do to prove we are not making this stuff up so I thought maybe a video from the winner?
Does anybody out there have a suggestion on how we can make people feel we are legit? Are we doing a good job now? When you come to the site do you think we seem shady or something? My mission is to get no more emails that say, are you guys for real? I need your help!!

You should really try to gear everything towards teenagers. Hire someone to make legitimate looking web pages since you want to be legitimate.

i am so glad that you have this scholarship, i hope i get it. But i feel that Brittani is right i think you should have a video of the winners because i get tired of reading about the winners. I would rather see them talk about themselves and give their thanks.

You should definantly consider doing some commercials and promoting the site, most people where i’m from doin’t even know it exist. The video of past winners is a great idea it’s the main reason i consierded this site.

hi! I don’t think you need anything else to prove your credibility. I am a parent of 3 college going children in USA (American citizens) and am presently unemployed. Their father does not want to pitch in for their education so I study ‘free scholarships’ websites very carefully since the past year and a half. Although none of my children have received any scholarships from this weblink, I can truly say that it seems the most genuine compared to most other sites on the net and the least time-consuming. The fact that I myself live far off in India and visit your website most often, might be additional testimony to your authenticity! Wish you good luck and thank you for letting us ‘hope!’

I think that a video from the winner is the greatest idea ever but i also like the idea of winning other things besides scholarship money.

Reading about actual students who have won is great, but you need to link to different kinds of sites instead of only scholarship sites. When we wonder if these others are for real, we have to wonder if this one is too. Also, the rewards for logging on have to be more than one large scholarship per month. I can do that at your other scholarship links without earning a few points daily. the game sites at least let you spin for water bottles, $5,$10 gc’s in addition to the big $1000 a month. I do think your site is real due to the weekly podcast and financial aid info better than anywhere else.

I think that presenting a video clip of the winner would be the best way to demonstrate that we all can be winners and coul be the next ones.

Try submitting to contest and scholarship sites so you can see more traffic and response. But I’m excited

i think the video clip of the winners is a good idea. reading somethin is semi-effective, but seeing real actual people talking about what they won is a little bit more. Another way to make your credibility go up is to promote more…this may entail a quick commercial or something. it’s just an idea.
