Because for those lucky enough got free rides, are busting their chops to keep it (if smart enough). And those blessed enough get some time of scholarships or grants which any little amount does help when you are a college student and see people who have outrageous loans, because everyone tries to stay away from loans so they do not end up paying them off for the rest of their life and dealing with the interest. The scholarship would help tremendously with school books and all the little extra fees that do no come to mind. Also with the whole dormitory thing that many colleges try to impose on freshman. But of course, it would definately help pay for classes while someone who works or even has the scholarship can hopefully use it and put it together with what they have earned and make it last for the whole school year before having to worry again.
