And the Scholarship Idol Winner Is

After a long summer of Scholarship Idol we are pleased to release the final results.

Thanks to all who entered back in the YouTube round and to those who made it to the member voting round. And now without further ado, the winner of the 2008 Scholarship Idol is:

“First of all I want to thank God for gracing me with this scholarship! Prayer works! JIL CYNsd! I am a freshman from San Diego State University and starting college is a new experience for my whole family. As the first one to go in I hope I can be an example to my little brothers. Thanks to this scholarship, I can now focus more on my studies rather than my worries and succeed!

Vote Calculations

The final calculations are different than the real time display because the rules state only ScholarshipPoints members may vote and only one entry per member is allowed. We unfortunately had 450 votes which were either duplicate or made by non-members and this had a big impact on some entries.

All runners-up will receive a Flip Video Camcorder and the winner will need to contact us so that we can get the information we require for sending the winning scholarship check to their school financial aid office.

The winner should contact us, as well as anybody with specific questions at members@scholarshippoints.com

    i think that we should all make a video like the gmail thing.

    where we get a paper or something that resembles scholarshippoints.com have it start with someone throwing it off to the side of the screen, then the next person will have it thrown to them then they do something unique and throw it to the other side of the screen and repeat till done. it would be a collaboration effort and ill be glad to edit it =D hire me guys! haha

    if not i could prolly make a scholarshippoints series of some sort, battling other problems of college such as textbooks, internet, transportation. etc.

    i have a ton of ideas!
