As it turns out, this horror story is far more common than one would think. I’m serious. Google the title of this article and be amazed at how many peoples’ moms are on Facebook. Mine is. Yours might be too.. *Cue twilight zone music*
It’s not all bad that regular Moms and Dads and Aunts and Uncles are on Facebook. I think my Mom has 4 ‘friends’ total, and I’m reluctantly one of them. But get used to it. The 30+ age range is the fastest growing demographic on the 100 plus million user social network we all know and love. And you know what? Some of these people are or are soon to become your bosses! So don’t turn out like this guy. Facebook, like any of the hundreds of online networking tools can be used to your advantage.
Earning points to win scholarships is a great way to facilitate the financial pressures of a college education. But that’s not even half the battle. Learn how to manage your finances early. It’s also immeasurably important to network yourself, find quality internships and stay ahead of the curve. Take some online classes during a school break to supplement your coursework.

LOL. Great blog! Yeah…my mom is on Facebook too. *sigh* I don't try to hide stuff from her, so it's not a big deal. Still, it's a bit unnerving when she'll call me up on the phone and say, "I saw so-and-so wrote this-and-that on your wall!" Also, I recommend everyone keep their privacy settings strictly regulated so that noone here endures what Mr. Intern (above) experienced. It will be a golden rule of mine to NEVER "friend" co-workers when I'm graduated from college and working.
Hahaha this is hilarious and same here, my mom is on facebook as well as my dad. As a matter of fact I think my entire family has a facebook – My uncle, cousins, aunt, other uncle, brother, and bunch of other family members I can't remember right now. lols
I have to say my whole family has a facebook, even my mama. I enjoy my family having a facebook. It is easy to stay in contact with them while I am away at school.

LOL funny that you said people came in here for points. Thats partially true but hey I did find the facebook really helpful. it's got some awesome websites and that newsletter, man. Its an roadmap for college!

I don't have facebook
I'm one of the mom's that is on facebook. my co-students talked me into it. My son is on it. I missed my 25th class reunion, but we've all decided to go on facebook because classmates.com costs money a lot of us don't have just to keep in touch. I still prefer myspace though. You can make it really cool.
This is so true most of my family is on Facebook. In a way is good because you know when it's everybody's birthday.
