    Hey guys,

some of the best advice I ever got from a high school counselor to was to remember that "Scholarships are FREE money for college. They should never ask you to pay a fee for an award."

I've never applied on line until now because I was afraid of getting scammed! But this is neat and really works! Thanks for the advise!

A scholarship scan is when they say that you have 5,000 and all you have to do is to make an account with them and then they tell you that you have just won this blackberry phone or Tahoma laptop and you have to go through these processes to finish signing up. That is what I think is a scholarship scam. Some people just have nothing better to do than lead you on.

Thanks for posting this information on scams as there are way to many to count. The government is cracking down some on the more daring ones but still a bunch out there…funny but a lot advertise on Google adwords, adsense and the like.

This is really SCARY! I didn't google it before I entered. It is ironic that the first one on tHe page was the UNITED STATES ACHIEVEMENT ACADEMY because I enterd it two years ago through one of my couselors' consent. I receive an award from them every year though (but I did had to pay a fee). THANKS Scholarship Points for opening my eyes. I'll be more carefull next time.
