09.23.09 | Attention Online Degree Students!
We are looking for anyone who has been enrolled in an online degree program to share their experience with our members. We want to hear it all – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Did you find online education easy? Was it more difficult than a traditional classroom setting? How long did it take you to get your degree? Was it expensive? Would you do it again? What was the financial aid process like? Did your classes transfer without a problem? Did a prospective employer have reservations about hiring you because your degree was from an online institution? Any other thoughts?

I am currently taking two online classes and I love them. Mostly because I do not have to deal with driving into class when I can so the same amount of work from home.

I don’t find online classes/education any better than education in a classroom. I feel the purpose of an education is to communicate with professors, faculty, and students of school. I also feel that online classes should be cheaper than they are offered for.

I am a hands on learner.. which does not apply to typing and clicking. i would think that it would be hard for me to learn online instead of actually being in the classroom

I am currently in an online degree program and its great. Its not too hard, and you can always ask the teacher questions. You can even call them. You can also speak or chat with your classmates.

I am enrolled online and it’s a really good program. You can contact teachers to ask questions, and do assignments on your own time. so far theres only one big assignment per class, and its due at the end of the course

online classes work for people with a busy schedule. Those who actually have time should go to classes rather than take them online. its hard to keep up and motivate yourself to try.

I am currently online, and it is a very simple process! I had trouble initially because I was not familia with it. Now, the only adverse side effect would be, that when you are posting assignments, others can duplicate your work without even taking time to read the assignment. However, they can’t duplicate your work, when you are writing a paper. I enjoy on campus, and online. Online is because 10 p.m is too late to get home and I have a three year old.

I am currently an online student with Grand Canyon University. I completed my AA through University of Phoenix online. Now I am working on my Bachelors. When I first began it was tough. It is hard to make yourself accountable when you have a million other things to do. I am a stay-at-home mom so there are often times when my family has to come first. Once I got over the initial speed bumps I have been able to create a good balance for myself. I study during the day while my kids are in school and then put the books away when they get home. I won’t say it has always been easy but I’ve done the best with the options available to me.

I am not recieving my entire degree through online classes. However, I am taking a few online courses at Colorado State University. I like it a lot because it gives me the flexibility to learn at the pace i want and study at the times that are most convenient to my schedule!

I haven’t took an online class before, but have helped a friend in one. He kept complaining about how his work wouldnt’ get properly submitted and that his teacher never respended to his questions and e-mails.

Online classes allow you to work on assignments at your convenience. It’s especially great for work at home moms like myself. The only thing is that you have to be very committed and have self control because you must keep up with the assignments and make sure you turn them in ontime.

I have been a student at columbia state and am currently enrolled in an online course… I like it. it is very helpful, espically if you have a busy schedule like i do. I like being able to work at my own pace and not have to try to meet tons of deadlines. Online classes are awesome.

I have been a student who have taken online classes through Everest University. It was a great experience and very convenient for accommodating my schedule as a full time student and a full time employment. I had no trouble staying motivated as I always kept in mind what my goals are. I experienced great success as an online student and I think its a great option, particularly for working adults. It provides a convenience not afforded by on campus classes.

I filled out my FAFSA and was required to use my dad and step-moms income because I lived with them during my senior year. My step mom makes a lot of money, so I did not qualify for any assistance, even though she has no obligation to pay for my college education and won’t.
