11.12.09 | Olive Garden’s Essay Writing Contest

Posted in New Scholarships by Kristin Ferguson

Hello my little scholarship seekers! As you know there are new scholarships posted each week over on Student Scholarship Search. I just posted one this morning for the Olive Garden.  Personally I’d be happy if I won a gift card from Olive so I could eat some of that fine cuisine, but someone is going to win $2,500 and a three day trip to NY City along with dinner at the Olive Garden in Times Square!

Throughout my entire school career I have been witnessed to plenty wonderful teachers. They have all taught me something that will influence my future decisions whether career based or just better overall life choices. Although many have influenced me in many ways, one teacher stands out above the rest, my math teacher for my junior and senior years. In both my trig/pre-cal (junior) and AP Calculus (senior) classes, he is always preaching to us by saying, “Cheaters now, cheaters forever.” He shares this quote to explain that it is imperative to be a hard worker and earn your own grades rather than waiting for someone else to get the grade for you. Because of Mr. Meggs, I will always make the better decision from rembering his saying to not give in to the temptation of copying someones homework or looking at an answer on someone elses test.
