New Scholarships Alert: 7/21/2011
Happy Thursday to all of you scholarship enthusiasts out there!
Since we sent out our most recent scholarship alert last week, we have added even more new scholarships to StudentScholarshipSearch that we can’t wait to tell you about. Below are descriptions of a few of the scholarships we have added with you in mind:
The Lee and Byun International Relations and Cultural Awareness Scholarship will award $500 to the winning applicant, assisting them with educational costs. Named after two Korean natives who witnessed the devastation of the country’s war, this scholarship seeks to recognize the most outstanding essay that conveys passion, understanding, and appreciation for international relations, cultural awareness, and the impact that pioneers for positive change can achieve. It is open not only to U.S. citizens, but also to citizens of countries around the world. Each year’s deadline for consideration is January 31.
The Christopher J. Coffland Quest for Knowledge Scholarship honors United State’s Army Corporal Coffland, who was killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom, in Afghanistan in 2009. The scholarship challenges applicants to compose an essay on a specific issue of consequence and particular interest, addressing a topic related to national security, strategic studies, cultural awareness, and diplomacy. In order to win the $500 award, essays must be submitted by July 31.
The Sharps Compliance, Inc. Spring Scholarship Essay Contest
Sharps Compliance, Inc. endorses an essay contest that is open to all students accepted to or currently enrolled at an accredited university, in healthcare related studies. Applicants may choose to write their essay about one of three given topics: Environmental and Home Safety Concerns Surrounding Unused and Expired Medications, Green Initiatives Directed at Medical Waste Treatment, or Accidental Needle-Stick Injuries Outside of the Hospital and Healthcare Setting. All essay submissions are currently being accepted, and will continue to be until the deadline on October 31. Prizes will be awarded to the top three essays, as judged by the company’s panel, and announced on November 30.
Sharps Compliance is also offering a similar scholarship opportunity, the Spring 2012 Veterinarian Scholarship Essay Contest, which entails a similar application and the same entry deadline. Be sure to read more about that one, too, under the New Scholarships and Grants section of StudentScholarshipSearch.com. As always, good luck to everyone!
