Hello there scholarship seekers! As the summer comes to an end, I am sure that scholarships are one of the first things on your mind. As you take time to search for scholarships this week, you may want to check out the following awards.
The first scholarship I have for you today comes from the Society of Women Engineers. This scholarship program provides financial assistance to women preparing for careers in engineering and computer science. Applicants must be enrolled in college at a undergraduate or graduate level. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $10,000.
The second scholarship is The Penelope Hanshaw Scholarship. This scholarship was created in 1991 to honor the work of Penny Henshaw, the first female president of the Geological Society of Washington and Deputy Chief Geologist at the U.S. Geological Survey. Eligible applicants are women who are currently enrolled as full-time, graduate or undergraduate geoscience majors at a degree-granting college or university in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, or West Virginia.
The final scholarship is the Urban Scholars Award. This scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement on graduating New Jersey high school seniors attending public secondary schools in the state’s urban, economically distressed areas.
