Are you working towards a marketing degree that will take you through the constantly evolving world of multi-channel marketing (mobile, web, email, virtual worlds, social media networks, podcasting) in the 21st century?

How would you like to earn a $500 Scholarship and real world experience at the same time?

We will award one (1) $500 scholarship to the person with the highest number of referred sign-ups to ScholarshipPoints as of midnight, September 30.

Here’s how it will work:

Up to 20 people will be chosen to submit a two-page marketing strategy for driving ScholarshipPoints.com membership. How do you get chosen? Simple: tweet the reason why you should be one of the 20. The only requirements here are your tweet must include the hashtag #SPSMM and it must appear on the public timeline prior to Midnight EST August 23, 2009. Remember you have only 140 characters and only ONE shot to make the cut.

Examples:

  • I’ve got 13,177 followers on Twitter and I’ll ask all of them to sign up for ScholarshipPoints. #SPSMM
  • I’m a member of the largest sorority at UMass. You’ll be the subject of our next sorority video if I’m chosen. #SPSMM
  • My blog has 5,000 daily readers and I can get at least half to sign up! #SPSMM

The 20 first-round finalists will be given one week (August 24 – 30) to submit a one-page marketing plan. How are you going to tell your community, offline and online, about ScholarshipPoints? Twitter, your blog, Facebook?

Your ideas will be submitted to three (3) judges who will pick 10 finalists to go out and execute their marketing plans. The 10 finalists will be given 30 days (September 1 -30) to execute their marketing plan.

The winner will be the person with the highest number of referred sign-ups to ScholarshipPoints as of midnight, September 30.

Frequent updates will be posted with new member sign-ups. All new members will be included in regularly scheduled ScholarshipPoints newsletters and promotions.

All regular ScholarshipPoints terms & conditions apply to this scholarship.

Good luck!

I am not comfortable with a completely online education. I have taken some online classes and some onground classes. I prefer it mixed like that. I like the idea of having a local school I can go to with any issues, for extra help, and for resources.

I too am not very comfortable with online education. I do not feel that the student gets to be able to experience the job first hand. Hands-on experience not only helps to train the individual for his/her future job, but also allows the individual to see whether or not that career is the right one for him/her.
