04.08.11 | Credit Card Alternative for College Students

Posted in Point Activities by Kristin Ferguson

In 2009 a law was passed that prevents adults under the age of 21 from being approved for a credit card without a cosigner. Before this law, many college students depended on credit cards to shop online, book travel, and buy textbooks.  Luckily, there is now a new credit card alternative for college students. The NetSpend Student All-Access Prepaid MasterCard has all of the convenience of a credit card without the danger of going into debt.

With the Student All-Access card there are no credit checks, debt, interest charges or overdraft fees. It is simply a card that you pre-load money onto and spend as you would like. With the Student All-Access card you will gain access to exclusive student discounts and have the opportunity to customize your card with a photo of your own!

When you order and activate a card, you can load money onto it in several convenient ways: bank transfers; direct deposit of a payroll check; or by bringing cash to any of the more than 100,000 NetSpend Reload Network locations across the U.S. It is a great way to maintain a budget and make sure that you don’t overspend.

When you register for a NetSpend Student All-Access Prepaid MasterCard your scholarship points account will automatically be credited with 25 scholarship points and you will be entered for a chance to have $500 deposited on your card.
