12.23.10 | New Scholarships Alert
Hi there scholarship seekers. Hope you are all enjoying your winter break! The time between semesters is a great opportunity to start applications for scholarships that have spring deadlines. Today I have a few scholarships to share to help you get started.
The first scholarship I would like to tell you about is the Diverse Minds Youth Writing Challenge. This is an education awareness initiative offered by B’nai B’rith International as one of its programs that promote tolerance and communicate a message of equality among all citizens, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender or sexual orientation. This scholarship competition asks high school students to write and illustrate a children’s book that discusses the topics of tolerance and diversity. The challenge encourages teens to create innovative ways to teach tolerance to young children, as well as gain new insights into these issues for themselves.
The second scholarship I have for you comes from the Phoenix Akarama Foundation. This foundation offers undergraduate scholarships to deserving female high school seniors and community college students each year. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, campus involvement, community service and leadership.
The final scholarship program I have for you today is the Hawaii Community Foundation Scholarship Program. This program consists of over 150 scholarship funds established by generous individuals, families, businesses or organizations to assist Hawaii’s residents in obtaining a college education. Some if the funds are part of the Hawaii Community Foundation and some represent private foundations that have asked the Hawaii Community Foundation to administer their scholarships. Students apply to the program and, if eligible, can be awarded from one or more of these funds.
That is all for today. Don’t forget we have another round of our own scholarship drawings coming up on January 3rd! Login to ScholarshipPoints now and redeem the code SCHOLARSHIPSIN11 for 15 scholarship points. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
