Posted in New Scholarships by Kristin Ferguson

Hi there scholarship seekers! I hope everyone is finishing up at school and heading home for turkey day soon! I know you are all probably very busy, but with so many scholarship deadlines coming up in December and January it is important to keep the search and application process on the forefront of your mind. Here are a few new scholarship awards I have found recently…

The first is the 2011 ASSE Foundation Scholarship Award Program. The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) awards a variety of scholarships every year. Most are undergraduate awards for full-time students (enrolled in 12 hours or more per semester) pursuing an undergraduate degree in occupational safety and health, or a closely related field. Check it out to learn more!

The second scholarship award I want to tell you about is an American Red Cross scholarship opportunity called Bloodstock. To qualify for this scholarship drawing, a student must plan and organize a blood drive within the Southeast Division (Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi Gulf Coast, portions of Florida and portions of Tennessee) of the American Red Cross that collects a minimum of 50 units of blood ($2,000 scholarship drawing – 4 total one per region) or a drive that collects a minimum of 35 units of blood ($1,000 scholarship drawing – 4 total, one per region) from volunteer donors. This is a great way to give back and potentially win some scholarship money!

The final scholarship I want to tell you about is the Create-A-Greeting-Card $10,000 Scholarship Contest. Design a greeting card and you could win a $10,000 scholarship. Plus, your entry will be made into a bona fide greeting card by the leading publisher of premium quality cards in the United States, The Gallery Collection.

That is all for today! Don’t forget that we have our final $10,000 scholarship drawing of 2010 coming up in less than one month! The deadline to enter is December 14th and the lucky winner will be announced on December 15th. Login now to start earning scholarship points.

Posted in News by Kristin Ferguson

ScholarshipPoints.com, a free college scholarship rewards program, will draw the winner of their next $10,000 scholarship on December 15th.

QUINCY, MA (November 16, 2010) – ScholarshipPoints  (http://www.scholarshippoints.com), an Edvisors online education company, recently announced that its final $10,000 scholarship of 2010 will be awarded on December 15th. The December drawing will mark the fifth time this year that ScholarshipPoints has awarded a $10,000 scholarship to a single student and brings the total amount awarded to over $115,000 in 2010. This far surpasses the $75,000 awarded in 2009, and reinforces ScholarshipPoints commitment to defraying the cost of college for students in need of financial assistance. To ensure funds are used for educational purposes, awards are sent directly to the student’s financial aid office.

With over 1.3 million members, ScholarshipPoints is the fastest growing college scholarship rewards program in both membership and scholarship funds. In addition to the $10,000 scholarship drawings, the ScholarshipPoints program gives away a number of $500, $1,000 and $2,500 scholarships every month. “Being an out-of-state student has put financial pressure on me from the beginning,” said Melissa Jones, winner of the September $10,000 scholarship drawing. “I can now focus solely on my academics during my last stretch of college without the financial burden.”

11.10.10 | November is National Scholarship Awareness Month

Posted in News by Kristin Ferguson

Did you know that November is National Scholarship Awareness Month? National Scholarship Awareness Month was created to raise awareness of the importance of scholarship money in our society. Everyone deserves the chance to pursue a higher education, but with the cost of college rising every year it becomes harder and harder for students and their parents to foot the bill. It is important to make families aware of the fact that hundreds of thousands of scholarship dollars are available every year to help students finance their education.

ScholarshipPoints knows how crucial scholarship money is in the quest to better educate the world. That is why we award scholarship money every month, partner with organizations who are also committed to awarding scholarship money to students, and make an effort to introduce our members to other great scholarship offers. This month, as an active participant in scholarship programs, do your part make your friends aware of all of the scholarship opportunities that exist through ScholarshipPoints.com and other organizations.

Hi there scholarship seekers! Hope you are all having a good week. I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about a few new scholarship awards.

The first scholarship program I have for you comes from Idaho Power. Idaho Power understands the importance of education. Supporting higher education builds stronger communities and provides opportunities to make a better tomorrow. Idaho Power offers both a Scholarship for Academic Excellence and the Larry Wimer Memorial Scholarship.

The second scholarship I want to tell you about is the Our World-Underwater Scholarship. Each year, the Our World-Underwater Scholarship Society (OWUSS) awards three Rolex Scholarships (one each in the North America, Europe, and Australasia regions) to young people who are considering a career in an underwater-related discipline. If you fall into this category it is definitely worth checking out.

The final scholarship I want to share with you today is the Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship. Established under the aegis of The Humane Society of the Unites States, the Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship assists students who demonstrate a deep respect for animals and people in achieving their dreams of working in the service of animals. Each year the scholarship is awarded to a New England high school senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection over a significant period of time.
