06.29.10 | New Scholarships Alert!

Posted in New Scholarships by Kristin Ferguson

Hi all! Hope everyone is keeping cool in the heat of summer. As you’re enjoying your air conditioned room, why not take some time to search for scholarships? Here are a few to get you started.

The first scholarship I want to tell you about is for Early Childhood Education professionals. The Early Childhood Educators Scholarship Program was designed to provide financial assistance to currently employed early childhood teachers who enroll in an associate or bachelor degree program in Early Childhood Education or related fields.

The second scholarship I have today is for residents of Maine. The George J. Mitchell Scholarship was created to expand and improve opportunities for the education of young people in Maine, primarily at higher education institutions within the state. The best part about this scholarship is that it is awarded to a graduating senior from every public high school in Maine.

The final scholarship is the Math and Science Teachers Scholarship Program for Massachusetts public school teachers. This scholarship provides financial assistance for coursework leading to the initial educator license in a Mathematics or Science field for teachers who are currently employed in Massachusetts public schools and teaching Mathematics or Science courses.

That is all for today. Don’t forget that you still have a few more days to earn scholarship points and enter this month’s scholarship drawings. There is $8,000 in scholarship money available! This includes the seven sponsored scholarships and the June $1,000 Free College Scholarship. The winners will be posted on July 1st!

Summer scholarship searchHello everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful summer weather and settling into your breaks and/or classes. As I’m sure you know, just because the sun is out and the beach is tempting doesn’t mean that tons of new scholarships aren’t launching online! Here are some highlights to start your season off right:

Amplify Credit Union Scholarship — This is definitely a fun one. Instead of writing an essay, how would you like to create a video entry? Amplify Credit Union is calling for students to submit a short video (2 minutes) or essay that explains why you think you should win the prize ($7,500!). Once the submission deadline is over, there is a voting period and the winner is chosen. Extra points will be given for creativity, music, choreography, style, and use of the Amplify logo.

Educational Research Center of America Community Contribution Scholarship — ERCA is a non-profit corporation that awards student scholarships and conducts voluntary surveys of high school and middle school students throughout the United States. ERCA provided a minimum of 25 scholarships per year to deserving high schools students.

Alan H. Conklin Business Aviation Management Scholarship — NBAA and Conklin & de Decker annually award $5,000 to a student who is officially enrolled in an aviation management program at a University Aviation Association member school.

Thanks for reading! We’re always on the hunt for new scholarships and post them daily on www.StudentScholarshipSearch.com. If you find a good one, post it for everyone to see on our scholarships forum!

ScholarshipPoints.com, a free college scholarship rewards program, helps one MBA student finish her degree.

QUINCY, MA (June 18, 2010) – ScholarshipPoints (www.scholarshippoints.com), an Edvisors online education company, recently awarded their third $10,000 scholarship of 2010. This scholarship award is a testament to ScholarshipPoints’ commitment to defraying the cost of college for students in need of financial assistance. Through their free scholarships program, ScholarshipPoints will help students of all ages achieve their dreams of a college education by giving away up to $100,000 in 2010. To ensure funds are used for educational purposes, awards are sent directly to the student’s financial aid office.

Amanda Peterson, a student at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, was named the latest $10,000 scholarship winner through the June drawing. “The funds will allow me to complete my MBA two-year program in two years without having to turn to financial aid an put myself further in debt,” said Peterson. “A great weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I now no longer have to try to figure out how to make the financial aid payments at the end of my program.”

With over one million members, ScholarshipPoints is the fastest growing college scholarship rewards program in both membership and scholarship funds. In addition to the $10,000 scholarship drawings, the ScholarshipPoints program gives away a number of $500, $1,000 and $2,500 sponsored scholarships every month.

Since the beginning of this year, ScholarshipPoints has given away almost $50,000, with $8,000 more to be awarded at the end of June. This puts the site on pace to reach its goal of giving away over $100,000 in scholarship funds by the end of 2010. “Because our memberships is growing so quickly, we have been able to bring on more sponsored scholarships,” said Thy Nguyen, Product Director for ScholarshipPoints.com. “The more members we have, the more money we will be able to give away in the future.”
