As i read through the stories others have posted i wish we all could have help. I am certain that we all need it, and we all know how hard it is to leave high school and start a new life. A new place, new people and a new enviroment not to mention new financial problems. Thats exactly what i did. I left my home which consisted of 9 of us including my mother and father. The word low income doesnt do justice. My parents income combined is that of one person working in a factory. I am not ashamed of not being well off but it does fail to pay for the education I need to better my life and to give my future family more than i received growing up. I thought college was the answer so i left my home, family, and friends and started college. As if financial matters werent enough of a burden my freshman year my roomate was murdered. I found her after class and the word college freshman took om a whole new meaning. College is not only a learning enviroment but also a olace to change, a place to grow. Not a place to find your friend, roomate…. murdered. It has changed my life and now my obligation is going to college online. Online college is alot more expensive unfortunatly. This is why i am trying to find ways to still continue college even after a terrible tragedy as this. I found a way to feel safe and continue my education. Now i have to find ways of paying for it when grants only go so far and student loans have to be payed back. I would feel like something finally payed off, went right in my life if i won a scholarship! Thank you.

Never had a dream school until this year. Bucknell University and it’s beautiful but I’m afraid my Cal Grants won’t be able to help me if I go there. Plus, I missed the financial aid that I didn’t even know existed. If I won this scholarship, it would really help me to follow my dreams and go far away to study. This money would not only help my education, but as well as letting me travel and be far away so I can appreciate what I have here at home.

If I were to win the $50,000 scholarship it would be a great blessing in my life. I am enrolled in a two year Nursing Program. The total cost of the program is over $40,000. I will use this scholarship to pay for my tuition and other fees, so, when I graduate I won’t have any debt. I can’t get any help from federal pell grants and I can’t get any student loans because of my poor credit. I have always wanted to be a nurse. I need to get done with my schooling so that I can start a family. I hope you will consider me for this $50,000 scholarship. It would help me in so many ways.

If I won $50,000, I would use it to pay off all my student loans. If there was anything left over, I’d most likely give some to my niece to help her with her studies too, and my nephew, if he is going to college.

If I won the 50K scholarship I would have the opportunity of a lifetime and I would make my Mom very proud. She has always wanted me to graduate college, she was diagnosed with lung cancer 2 years ago therefore I know she would help me if she was able.I’m handicapped and trying to live on disability is not enough.I have two boys and I am determined to achieve more.I have always been hard working at anything that I try to achieve.I can’t afford to pay my tuition but that’s not going to stand in my way like my mom always says where there’s a will there’s a way and God works in mysterious ways.

The sum of $50,000 would help out tremendously with tuition for college, books, and campus housing. Living in Louisiana has the perk of TOPS, but TOPS doesn’t cover much. It covers some tuition at, some, in state schools for 8 semesters. It doesn’t cover housing fees, book fees, or any other kind of fees you have to pay as a college student. $50,000 could help alleviate the amount of students needed to pay for books, housing and continuing education after undergraduate degrees, which is something I would love to be able to do. I plan to continue my education after undergraduate school and could use $5o,ooo to eliminate or lower student loans.

Well this is a scolarship, so I would use it strictly for tuiton. I’m enrolled already for a two year program and that is going to cost roughly $30,000. I would like to continue after that two years, which will cost even more than that. When you look at the true cost of tuition $50,000 does’t even cover a full 6 year degree. I am a single mother of three and trying to better myself for all our sakes

If I don’t get scholarships I will not be able to continue my education. I have high goals and that will require alot of school. I have 5 brothers and 1 sister, three of which are attending college right now and a fourth will be a senior this next fall. One of my brothers has had cancer 3 times now and a new tumor was recently found as well. I have no help paying for college at all. With a 50K I could pay for my college for the next 4 years and maybe be able to help my parents out with the medical bills for my brother.

Having lived in seven different countries, four different states, and traveled through numerous countries, I have developed a deep desire to work in socially and educationally impoverished third-world countries. My fiancée and I are seniors and have been accepted to a one year graduate program in the Humanities at the University of Chicago. Right now, the one thing standing in our way from receiving our degrees and beginning work in Tanzania where our connections are already formed, is the looming tuition expense of $40,000 for the Masters program on top of our $25,000 in loans from undergraduate.

If I could win a $50,000 scholarship it would be the answer to all of my prayers. The past couple of years have been a struggle and I have to rely on loans from the government to pay for school. On top of that, I just was layed off from my job of five years. Now I have to take out larger loans to pay for everything. I’m majoring in forensics and I still have a few more years to go. I’m just really scared that when I finish, my loans are going to be really hard to handle. “Not finishing” is not an option though, I just take a deep breath and pray.

If I won a scholarship of this magnitude, I would take a moment to give back to a community who are not as well off as me. I currently cannot attend school because I don’t have the means to do so but I know I can do so much good without school. I want to use this money to educate people on the needs to save and importance of preparing for college despite circumstances. My parents and I neglected to seek the knowledge and understanding thus were under prepared. I do not want anyone who wants an education as much as me to be in this situation and hopefully, within teaching others I will be getting myself an education too.
The best education anyone can have is to reflect on mistakes they’ve made and teach other people of them so they do not stumble where I’ve fell.

For someone like myself, winning a scholarship is only a dream. Life for me has been about a long struggle to try and put myself through school. I am currently enrolled in college but with the current economic climate my future seems deem. When I was little I always dreamt that I would get myself through college simply because no one in my community had ever gone. Every day, I come to school I am thankful that I am the fortunate 1 out of every hundred youths out there in America who is able to come to school. That leaves 99 other youths out is society who are not able to come to school but who dream about it just as I did. The opportunity of winning a $50,000.00 scholarship will not only keep in me school, it would allow me to complete college and hence establish a grounds for me to peruse higher education and a brighter life. However, more importantly, it will also give hope. Hope not only for myself but for others like me who are out there. It would greatly encourage youths to take opportunities such as the one I am part-taking in to help the lay the foundations for a brighter life and future.

Thinking of what I could do with 50,000 dollars the possibilities are endless. I am a current junior in college and a single parent so you can imagine that debt is inevitable, so I would pay off my debts and use the rest to help with future semesters. That money would not only help me as a student but also as a mother, I wouldn’t have to work all the time on top of going to school full time and I would be able to give that time to my daughter who absolutely deserves it.

It has become overwhelmingly difficult to afford an education in this day and age. A sum of $50,000 would place degree-seekers in a comfortable situation regarding student loans. Such a sum would allow a hard working student like myself to succeed in the world and gain a valuable education. It would provide a foundation for the start of a family.

Senior year of high school, that’s where I’m at. Hearing the word scholarship makes my heart race, but $50,000 scholarship is like a heart attack. I would definitely put it into good use. Such as paying for books, which can cost a lot, tuition, and sports. I am a hard working student golfer, but I’m not the hard core ones who practice from sunrise to sunset. My dream is to become a professional golfer and be able accomplish better than my parents have done in their lives. I want them to be able to tell other people that, “My child is better than me!”.

First of all, if I had won a $50,000 scholarship I would be ecstatic. Since scholarships are mainly for school, I would start using the money by paying off all my school loans. Then, I would put aside a good amount for buying future textbooks for all the years I would be attending until I graduate with a masters. Next, I would also put aside a good amount for rent to live close to school and for food. With the left over money, if I have enough to the point I will still have money for emergencies to put in my savings, I would like to get my first car. If I won a $50,000 scholarship, my life would be less stressful with current and future finances.

If i won a $50,000 scholarship, I’d be able to pay for all of my college, AND help my struggling family. I would probably also pass out if i won the scholarship. I don’t trust that it can get me to and from home on holidays without dying.

If I win this money, I could realize my dream of studying at Buffalo State College as a future educator. I am Latin, and being a minority student, this kind of help would be great support for me because with this money, I could pay for school and library books. It would help incredibly large. As a student, I would have a better future, as a teacher and I would provide the best quality education to American citizenship. My country and my parents will be proud of my achievements.

My parents and my country is very proud of my accomplishments. Thanks!

I recently started online classes. Unfortunately in order to afford these classes, I had to take out 5,000 dollars worth of loans – just for the first semester. When I finished high school, I planned to attend a great school in my home state. The college was offering a full-ride, but I decided against it – for good reasons, too. I have an 8-month old baby. She was born shortly after finishing high school, so any college classes are a great feat. Since I have had to take out loans, I will undoubtedly be in debt for the rest of my life – probably still living with my husband’s mom as well. We currently live in a small trailer with a total of six people. It’s terrible. We do not have the money to get our own place, especially since we are going to be paying for the majority of my schooling out-of-pocket. If I was able to get any sort of scholarship, I would be able to afford a home of our own and my schooling!
March 9th, 2010 | #

College is very expensive. If I win this scholarship I would use it to the best of my ability to get as far as earming a PHD. Coming from a low income family from a small city Leogane in Haiti, I know how important education is because it is something that was very difficult to recieve due to low income and poverty. I came to America to get a better future and I believe this scholarship is just what i need to get me going in the right direction.

Receiving a 50,000 scholarship would be so beneficial for me at this point in time. It would pay for almost all of the 2.5 years I have left, as school costs me about 18,000 plus a year. I am currently in school full time for my Bachelors in Psychology, while working full time also at a Clinical Research Organization. The 5,500 that I am receiving every year is nowhere near enough to pay for school in full, and I currently owe my school around 10,000 for the classes I am attending. If I receive a scholarship, I won’t have to pay them several hundred dollars a month out of my already minimal salary.

Wow, 50,000, would be like a dream come true. I would finish school. I had to put school off because my husband had to go overseas and we have 2 children, so I had to be home with them. My youngest had 2 open heart surgerys, so I had to work after that to continue to support him, so I had to put off school again. Then last we had to go overseas and hey did not offer anything for Americans to go to school. Sice we have goten back our house has flooded 2 times and we have started over, so I have had to work. My husband just retired for the USAF and 50,000 would get me off to school, laptop and all that is needed to get my degree. I need to show my daughter why she needs to go to school right after high school instead of waiting 14 years. I need the degree to get a better job so I can make sure my children understand the more important decision to make after high school is to GO TO COLLEGE.

It would be great to afford the college career that I want! It would also really help me afford to go to a two-year community college to earn my GED, and then on to a four-year university to earn a master’s degree in geology – specifically, mineralogy…
It’s been my dream to one day have my own rock and mineral shop, or to work for somebody in the field. A master’s degree in the subject would be a GREAT help. I’ve been collecting rocks, crystals, and minerals ever since I was a small child and I’ve become quite good at it; I’ve got the experience, but I still need a degree to back me up.
A $50,000 scholarship would all but secure success in my future. It would relieve the stress of hunting for a substantial scholarship, or several smaller scholarships. With a $50,000 scholarship, I could focus more on studying and less on worrying about money.

If I won a $50,000 scholarship or cash award I would be so elated! I will be able to finally attend a reputable nursing school and follow my dreams to becoming a nursing practitioner. My materials needed to help me progress throughout the programs would be purchased on time for the first time in my entire college career. The stress level would diminish drastically for myself and my family if I was awarded with this wonderful prize.

If I were to win this $50,000 scholarship, I would be able to get through college, it would help pay for my college tuition, housing, books, meal plan, laptop, and materials needed for the major of Emergency Medical Services. My mothers job got moved to Haiti so she is a dislocated worker, and just recently got state funding to go back to college to become a phlebotomy technician, so money is very tight. On top of finishing my senior year, I am the varsity cheerleading captain, and I have a part time job. I have worked very hard all throughout school and believe I would be a great recipiant for this scholarship. Thanks So Much!

February 23rd, 2010 | #
If I had a $50,000 scholarship I would use it to pay for as much of my college education as possible. I don’t want my parents to be unable to afford to put my siblings through college just because they used all their money for me, and I don’t think they want that either.

If I would win this scholarship I would use it towards my college education at a UC. Hopefully Berkeley. No I don’t want to be a doctor or a lawyer but that still doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be eligible to receive a scholarship. The money would help make anyone’s dreams come true.

I am really hoping to attend Duquesne University in the fall to pursue a degree in Forensic Science, but I cannot afford it at this time. My mother works full time as a nurse and my father has been retired for five years. I also have a sister who is a sophomore in high school so at this time, my college tuition is a little out of my range.

If I win a scholarship, I plan to attend school for a straight 6 years and get my Masters in Graphic Design. I really want to go to school, but the only support I can get is from my mother, since my father (who makes three times as much as her) isn’t going to pay for my education. I really don’t want to depend on my mother, since she is suffering financially (she has to pay child support for my brother starting in June), and I don’t want to be a drag on her. Since I am in high school, it has been difficult to find a job, since they are giving the jobs to older people and to college students. Hopefully, with all of my entries to scholarships, I can win at least one, and lessen the burden on my mother, who has done so much for me.

With 50 thousand dollars, I could pay for Brigham Young University, where I am going to earn a double major; a BFA in Acting and a PhD in Sociology or Anthropology. With my education, I plan on becoming a writer, actor, producer, director, and novelist. I believe that true art – in the form of literature, film, music, and live theatre – changes everyone it touches for the better, and with the scholarship money, I could be part of creating it.

50k would go towards tuition and basic film equipment..or maybe a computer. I can’t afford any of that right now. People say that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. That is not entirely true. You need a lot of money to go along with the drive.
February 18th, 2010 | #
If I win I would use it to pay for my first year of college and needs associated with it such as a new computer and houseing. I would then save the rest for next semester.

If I were to win such a substantial scholarship, I would most likely drop to my knees and start crying a tidal wave of euphoric tears! Pursuing my education is so important to me, but it will be near impossible for me to go through Grad School without help. I have big dreams of becoming an English professor, and with $50,000,I’m confident it could happen. It has been a fear of mine that I would wrack up hundreds of thousands in student debt…and as a bright-eyed high school senior, I only want to embrace my future without fear of bills I am not able to pay. My parents, too, are unable to help me, and I do not want them to feel guilt for that, because they have raised me the best they could have.

I rather have dept than put that pressure on my family, due to the fact that they’re already finacially unstable. I could pursue my career with more concentration and less stress. Organizations that support people who need finacial help should be cordially thanked.

I’m a senior in high school & am planning on attending Indiana University of Pennsylvannia, Fall 2010 for Marketing. Being the oldest child of four & living with my single mother the 60,000 doller cost of four years at Indiana is nearly impossible for us. Although we are trying as much as we can to make my schooling possible having a 50,000 doller scholarship would be more helpful than I can even say. It would pay for almost all of my schooling, & leave nearly no loans to pay making it possible for my brothers & sisters to also get the good education I’d be able to have.
February 10th, 2010 | #
If I was given 50,000 towards my education it would open my world up to different possibilities. My parents never raised the money for me to go to college so I have to pay for my education on my own. January 27th, 2010 | #
My parents always believed in giving equally to both my brother and myself. They recently finished paying for my brother’s undergraduate tuition with little effort. I intend on planning on one of the Ivies, and let’s just say that the tuition for one of those schools isn’t exactly the same cost as they paid for my brother’s. My parents told me they would pay the same amount for tuition as they did for my brother (which would cover a semester, at best), and are not changing their lifestyle at all. I do feel that this is somewhat selfish of them, but at the same time, the final cost would be around a quater of a million dollars. Words cannot describe how much winning this scholarship means to me, because then I can prove my parents wrong that I DO pay attention to scholarships and taking important matters into my own hands.
January 26th, 2010 | #

A $50K Scholarship will relieve me of a lot of stress. I have recently returned back to college and enjoy it. With the Scholarship, I am going to #1 take a 3 day interstate vacation for the purpose of relaxing, clearing my mind and carrying out a proper plan, with credit repair first on the list. Repairing credit will not happen over night but within the first 30 days I will guaranteed have a 0 balance credit dept.
With approx. $2,500.00 x 3 children = $7,500.00 invested into a bond, T Bill an investment of some sort towards my childrens education after high school.
I’m quite sure other needs will be met but the first on the list has been mentioned. The bottom line is I will be stress free for a moment and be able to experience other issues of stress. I will be also be able to financially bless someone with a paid PG&E bill or something similar.
My field of education will be promising when complete, therefor the scholarship will also free me of the unneeded stress towards studying and hopefully one day be able to give someone a scholarship of this magnitude consistently.

Additionally, my mother is ill and I wanted to go into medicine to help people who have cancer since I am a kidney cancer survivor for 13 years now.
I just want a chance to assist physicians and give the patients a better understanding of how to deal with having cancer and know it will be better in the long run.
I just want to finish the program and get a better job for the future. I have an IT degree but with the laidoffs and the cutbacks it is hard to find a job in that field.
Medical assisting and billing and coding seem to be the best fields right now to take.
I just want to finish school.

If I won the scholarship I would be able to fully pay for my schooling. I have been wanting to go to school since I got out of high school in 2004. I am finally getting that chance to get halfway through. The only thing missing is the rest of the tuition money. And this would cover that.
December 17th, 2009 | #

I would use the money for my remaining college years. I get the hope scholarship right now, but it’s going to run out at 125 hours. I added a minor so that added another 30 hours that I will have to pay out-of-pocket. I also wanted to study abroad in Spain for my Spanish minor, and without help I wouldn’t be able to go.
December 15th, 2009 | #
If I win a scholarship i would use it to pay for part of my student loans, buy equipment to start my freelance career as an audio technician, and hopefuly pay for school to further my eduacation.
December 15th, 2009 | #
If I won the $50,000 Scholarship, rather than using it to continue my education, I’ve already got loans out as I’m currently doing that, I would pay off those outstanding loans thus bringing my interest and loan payments down much further than what they are currently. The way I see it, it’s money I didn’t have anyway, so why not just spend it on what fees are already accumulated rather than burdening myself later with having to pay the larger fees. It’s not everyday that help like this comes along.
December 15th, 2009 | #
If I had that kind of money I wouldn’t have to worry about not being able to go to Vet School.
December 15th, 2009 | #
I would take this money and go to college. This is likely my only way of getting to college, since my family doesn’t have much money. I would go to the University of Missouri’s Journalism School with the money,
December 14th, 2009 | #
If I had that amount of money I would go to Notre Dame. I have only visited this collage, but I have dreamed of going there.

Accept calvary greetings in the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ who gives us daily victories. Upon all my struggles alone to proceed with my education. Wow!!! What an exciting and awesome news for me to earn a $50000 as a scholarship. May God richly bless you.

Maaaaaaaan! If I had 50k i’d be able to graduate with no debt (including the stuff I’m currently in)It would be such a burden lifter and I could focus even more attention to my studies-maybe even pick up the degree I really want! My 4 kids would be well taken care of for the time being and I won’t feel the (little) guilt I do for not working

I love this university! I held out for this one amoung several acceptances. I now find myself spending my free time searching for next years moneys. If I win make the check out to Loma Linda University! I don’t even have to physically see it! Hope I’m chosen!!

This money would help me to be able to pursue my dreams of studying Criminal Justice. I want to be able to go to college and get my masters but it is very difficultbecuase college has become so expensive. The money would assist me with the books and classes that I will have to take.

If I win a 50,000 scholarship I would first, pay off all student loans and use the rest (if there is any money left!) to fund my church’s youth ministry called ‘Today, Tomorrow, Forever’. The program is geared toward young women and tweens between the ages of 12-18. The goal of the ministry is to help girls realize their worth, make dreams a reality, teach them how to love themselves and learn about Christ. I love working with youth and I would love to give back to them and help them in any way possible. i know that winning $50,000 would surely put me on the right track to doing so.
December 3rd, 2009 | #
would use it to help pay for the rest of my schooling, and it would take all this pressure off my parents for having to work so hard, and they could focus on raising my other 3 siblings.
December 3rd, 2009 | #
If I won a scholarship their wouldn’t be as much stress on my parents to work as hard as they are to put me through school, and they could focus more on raising my other 3 siblings.

If I received a 50,000 scholarship I wouldnt have to worry about the cost of pharmacy school. Winning a 50,000 scholarship would be a blessing. I wouldnt have to take out a loan or try to work 2 jobs during the semester to pay for school. Words couldnt express my appreciation if I received a 50,000 scholarship.

If I would win a scholarship, I would be able to finish school. I’m a senior this year in college and every year I struggle trying to find money to stay in college. I’m to the point I might have to take a semester off because I can’t get anymore financial help. My mom has helped my brother in the past and is still paying off the loan so she can’t help me. My father refused to help me so I don’t have anyone to help me. I would be very grateful to win a scholarship to help me finish school.
December 2nd, 2009 | #
if i won this 50,000 dollar scholarship i would be beyond grateful. My dad just lost his job today and my parents are divorced. I go to the University of Dayton which is a private catholic school which has always been my dream to go to and the school is very pricey. My brother is in law school and my sister also attends UD but she is a senior. I am an education major and i have always wanted to be a teacher ever since i was little. People always ask me why are you going to Dayton to become a teacher you can get a degree for that anywhere. I always respond by saying that Dayton has one of the most credited education programs and i want to be the best teacher i can be for my future students. This scholarship would mean the world to me to so i can continue my education here at The University of Dayton.

If I won $50,000 Scholarship, I would like to go into ITT Tech at Knoxville, TN (class online maybe), and help pay my boyfriend’s college. My boyfriend is legally blind, and I helped him into college, and in fact he is paying his college. The $50,000 would help save us some times just in case if he loose his job.
December 2nd, 2009 | #
Being a single parent finally getting my divorce. I’m still not receiving any support and I’m sure I won’t and I’ve been struggling trying to make ends meet. I’m going to school so that my son and I can have a chance at living my life rather than struggle. I’m pregnant with my second baby and with a great man but he’s under-educated himself and is running a paper route for the little that we do get. If I got a scholarship I would be that much closer to finally getting to where my family deserves. I might be able to breath.
December 1st, 2009 | #
If I recieved $50,000 I will have enough to go to school and not worry about how I am going to pay for my tuition and my books. Since the economy is not in good shape it is very difficult to try to even finish at a university or to any good school where you can excel at. I will be the first in my entire family to graduate from college.

I’d be able to pay off tuition and books and anything else needed for a college. This would be the best oppurtunity for me, to go to college and major in music education. It would make me a happy person to be able to get my dream job and teach the children, “Our Future”, music. Being the first in my family to want to go to college, I think a scholarship would make a big difference and help me out with my education.

There are some many things you can do with money but if I had 50,000. I would pay my tution off, give money to charity, and help my mother get out of debt. I am upset that I had to leave school because I could not pay my tution but I am trying to enroll to a school closer to home so, it will be cheaper and I will only have to pay for books and classes. 50,000 will pay for all six years of my schooling and I will still have enough left over to help other that are in need of help.
November 16th, 2009 | #
All of us who aspire to higher academic education and life’s opportunities realize how difficult it is to finance college. If I was blessed with any financial aid, it would go a long way in allowing me to attend a four year university that has a renowned violin music performance program. This money would allow me purchase the violin necessary to reach the next level of the dream I am pursuing. In addition, it will pay for allthe room and board required to attend a university for four years.

If I earned a 50K scholarship, I would be able to breathe a little bit. My parents both decided not to go to college and now in these hard times, it’s just getting harder. As of right now, money is a big factor with picking a college. But my grades and effort at school will hopefully pay off in the end so that I can get scholarships, go to college and get a degree and not have to live my whole life worrying about money.
October 30th, 2009 | #
If I won $50,000, I would put it towards finishing school and studying abroad. As of right now, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go to school next semester because of tuition hikes. My dream has been to go to Italy, and with $50k, I would have the chance to finally go and even stay for a year for school. If there was money left after school and traveling, I would use the money to get my own place so my parents wouldn’t have to worry about paying for me. They’re struggling to make ends meet as is, so the possession of money for me would help them out immensely.

If I would win a $50,000 scholarship, I would be so overjoyed! I could pay most of the college school off, and wont have to worry much of paying all that money myself. My parents wouldn’t afford to just pay my college, and my sibling’s colleges off. So, this would be wonderful.
October 29th, 2009 | #
im anayely gutierrez and i am a senior, if i win the money that money would help me to pay my first year in college and support my education.
October 29th, 2009 | #
If i received this scholarship i wouldn’t have any reason why i wouldn’t go to college. College tuition is expensive and i am a struggling single mother. i would really love to have this; it would make my life a lot easier.
October 29th, 2009 | #
A $50,000 scholarship would be the most amazing thing to happen to me. First off, this scholarship would relieve me of all financial costs for my undergraduate studies. I’m very close to finishing and obtaining my long desired bachelors degree. In addition to that, I would use the remainder of those funds and apply it to the next level of education. Because the economy has yet to recover to a healthy state of economic growth, I would use that time to acquire new skills that would give me an advantage in marketability in my particular career as the economy recovers. And without a shadow of a doubt, $50,000 would be the single greatest financial relief for these educational costs.
October 29th, 2009 | #
If I had a $50,000 scholarship I would have more college options. We have great state schools, but I would like the option of attending a private and/or out-of-state university.
October 29th, 2009 | #
I would like to find best college in my home town and continuing to study and get my diploma/bachelor degree. i’ll use the rest of the money to buy text books, Notebook and many other thing that can support my education.
October 29th, 2009 | #
i would pay for my first year of college in fall 2010 which includes books, housing etc…
October 29th, 2009 | #
I would be able to use $50,000 to payoff some bills and help my daughters buy their school supplies as well.
October 29th, 2009 | #
If I am lucky enough to win a $50,000 scholarship, it could do wonders for me. My single mother would not have to pay for anything during my first years of college. I will be able to concentrate on school and do the best I can in my education instead of worrying about the high costs of attending a university.
October 28th, 2009 | #
I would be able to go to college and not have to stress about money 24/7. After college I would be able to go onto law school where I would hope to receive a law degree. Also, if i received $50,000 it would take the stress of my mother’s shoulder’s of how to put three children through college.
October 28th, 2009 | #
If I had a $50,000 scholarship, I would put some of it in the bank and use some of it to pay off the tuiton for the semester. It would be terrible to spend it all at once, so it’s best to have it there for ‘just in case.’
October 28th, 2009 | #
Since I’m international student, the $50,000 will help a lot; I can’t afford the massive amount of tuition next year. Plus, I’ll use this money for my campus life. (rent, meal, book, transportation, and etc.) I really need it!
October 28th, 2009 | #
If I won the $50,000 scholarship it would be a pleasure for me to announce how much that would help me as well as my family relieve the possible stress that finding money for school would give us. This scholarship would help a lot because my father is an unemployed Diabetic and my mother is working alone to support a family of 7. So earning this scholarship would truly be a blessing. If not i understand that there are many other scholarships out there that I could possibly apply for.
October 28th, 2009 | #
if i won a 50,000 scholarship that would be so amazing. it would be amazing because my parents are divorced and we don’t really have any extra money for college. i have younger brother and sister that want to go to college to and i know that my parents can’t pay for college for the three of us so getting this scholarship would just make my dreams come true. what is would do with it would use it for college. duh.
but to be more specific i would like to take that money to get me into the school of my dreams. this school is commerical divers academy. i want to be an underwater welder and this college is the one that suites everything i need and want.
October 28th, 2009 | #
If I won a $50,000 scholarship I would definitely attend the school of my dreams. If not a highly known school, maybe a school that will provide me the education I would need to become a doctor. If I won that $50,000 scholarship I would be given the chance to expand my education taking me beyond to the next level with my career. This scholarship would really clear the stress of finding money for my education and that would be one of my greatest highlights.
October 28th, 2009 | #
I would use it to attend the college I want to because I believe that education is the ticket to success. There is nothing else I would rather do with the money than to fulfill my hunger for learning to my heart’s content.
October 28th, 2009 | #
A $50,000 scholarship would help me get through college and be almost debt free. It would help me from taking out loans. Without a large amount of loans to pay off, I could start with my career and flourish in life, rather than be in debt. I want to be the best I can be in life and with a scholarship like this, it would help my dreams and hopes come true.
October 28th, 2009 | #
if i had $50,000 i would save $45,000 for college and $5,000 would be spent on enjoying my senior year.
October 28th, 2009 | #
I would definitely use it to finish the diploma course I am in now. I possibly, width that kind of money for school, would go on to get my 2 year degree.
October 28th, 2009 | #
If i had $50,000 I would put it towards school. Once I graduate high school in 2011, i’m heading straight to college to learn more about the law and becoming a lawyer. The $50,000 would help me and my mother, as we all know times are ruff right now and can’t just pull tutition out of our pockets.
October 28th, 2009 | #
If i win a $50,000 I would spend it for my education. I would not waste it over to something that is not important. At least I can use the money for my education. This is the only thing I can think of so far because of economic crisis today.
October 28th, 2009 | #
I would use it to pay my tuition and other fees.

With $50,000 dollars, I would use the money to pay for as much college as possible. I would spend as little as possible of it for other reasons. This would help reduce stress on my family, who even with me working would have trouble paying for it.

Well, I was born into a christan family with hard working blue and white collared working parents and an older brother. And raised in the ghetto of south chicago, illinois. There was a time in my life through nine and thirteen years of age, where the state took me away from my parents and placed me in foster homes and shelters. During that time, I’ve been beaten, abused and placed in more than six different housings in a span of a year. At a young and fragile age i couldnt understand why god would let this devistating situation happen to not only me but my entire family. So, to make a long story short, everytime i would have visitations with my parents we would all pray. Pray for us and those who didnt care about us. In addition, theres one sentence that my dad always would say and that i always will remember. He said ,”Son, I love you to death, i will die for you and you’re just a young cat, just listen and learn”. So tirelessly i listened very intently to all my surroundings. It payed off, one weekend i crept slowly down my foster home staircase, i was listening to my foster parent seeming to be on an important phone call. After a while i picked up on what the phone call was about. My foster parent was talking to D.C.F.S arranging to keep me for another couple of months so she can get paid extra money to pay her house bills. A light bulb went off in my head and i realized what my situation was and how inspiring my dad was to me. To summarize, i’ve learned how recieving monetary value can make a person either greedy or enhance a persons life. I learned about principles of economics. Still, partially unclear till this day, state courts never justified why they seperated my family and I. But, i’ve now been with my real family for around six years with no word from D.C.F.S and now living in rockford, illinois. I hope to have cast a vision on how money can change your life. And, be an example by using the scholarship money to put me through Harvard business school and earn my MBA. Therefore i can make enough money during my career to uplift my family, relatives and i and those in desperate need of a financial boost to enhance their lives as well. Were all social Creatures lets progress maturely like civil human beings.

It would get me in to the college of my choice and really make my mom proud of me. My family has been through a lot, we went from 4 members to 3 last year and the economy has not been so nice to my mom and her job. $50,000 would make my life!
October 28th, 2009 | #
With that money I would go back to school and finish my degree. I haven’t been able to go back to school and finish my degree sine I have been working trying to pay off bills, haven’t been able to due to work schedule, financial hardships etc… It would be an advantage to have that money to pay two year’s worth of tuition and not having to worry about, How your gonna pay, if you don’t qualify for Financial Assistance or Scholarships.
October 27th, 2009 | #
Winning $50,000 would be absolutly amazing. It would help me pay to go to my dream school by helping with the cost of tuition and other expenses!
October 27th, 2009 | #
Everyone would obviously say this scholarship would be a great benefit (and I agree 100%). In my situation and like many others, college fees and tuition fees is one of my major worries. Who wouldn’t want the opportunity of being worry-free about money and be able to focus completely on your studies. Just incase you wanted to know, I want to be a Secondary Mathematics teacher/Massage therapist. Odd combination, I know. Anyway, the money would be great so please for my future students and patients, grant me this wonderful scholarship.
October 27th, 2009 | #
$50,000 wow i would die! if i won that money i would go to the collage ive always wanted to attend and have more time to study and work hard instead of stressing over money problems!

In today’s society, fifty thousand dollars is quite a lot of money. It’s the difference between going to college and going straight to work. I am very inspired and very willing to earn a degree in Culinary Arts. I have very little money and college tuition and fees are steadily going up. I would like to take the fifty thousand dollars “in cash.” This is because I could pay for my twin sister’s college and mine as well. I cannot express myself enough on the idea of receiving this large amount of money for a scholarship. I would be very honored, thankful, appreciative, and very humble. The thought, as it pondered in my active mind, gave me hope for a future. Without scholarships, I wont be able to go to college for several years or maybe not at all. My generation is the future. Why don’t we get a head start. One by one, we can all be touched by the grace of your help. Thank you very much.

I would use the money to go to my dream college. I can no way afford it now. And I don?t want to spend years paying it off.
I am a first generation college student. I will be, anyways. many of my family members have not even finished high school. I want a different life than my parents. Not to live paycheck to paycheck. They didn’t graduate high school. So they cannot afford to send me to college. I am doing this all on my own…

With $50,000 my family wouldn’t have to worry so much about the cost of college. my brother is already in college and I know they stressed a lot over the financial part of him going to college. With the money, it would relieve a lot of the stress and I wouldn’t feel bad about going to college. I have awesome grades and can go almost anywhere I choose, this would help make that possible.

I am trying to win any amount. Every little bit counts but if I won this, then we wouldn’t have to stress as much!
October 27th, 2009 | #
If i won the $50,000, I would be able to attend college for the full four years. Right now my dad tells me if I get accepted to a college does not mean I will go there. Money is really tight with us right now; last month we sold our house and we still haven’t found one to live in, and 2 weeks ago my dad lost his job. I might not be able to go to college if I cant find a scholarship.

Due to the economy I am the sole bread winner of my family…in order to do that more fully I need to go back to school to get my degree in Graphic Design. If I had $50,000 I’d use it to help pay for college, computer, external memory, cds, living expenses. And I would be able to start immediately.
October 27th, 2009 | #
If I were to win a $50,000 scholarship it would make getting my psychology degree so much easier, then I’ll be able to help others who have suffered with substance abuse. That is my goal, to help others. What more rewarding way to spend your life then helping those who seek help. The scholarship would make things so much easier. I’d be able to graduate without having to take any breaks, I’d use the money for tuition, books, a new laptop as mine is getting pretty old.
October 27th, 2009 | #

A 50,000 dollar scholarship would be absolutely a blessing from God. With this money i would be able to attend the school of my choice and be able to earn a very respectable degree. After earning a degree, I must use my talents wisely and act christlike in all my dealings. All glory would be given to my saviour Jesus Christ. That would help college tuition nearly fully, and I would no longer need to meddle with these sites. Maybe, just maybe it could happen…

I’m afraid to take out student loans because I’ve seen first hand the problems even a little bit of debt can cause. Therefore the only way I will ever be able to afford college is through scholarships. To win a $50,000 scholarship would enable me to go to college without having to stress about how I would pay for it. This would make it possible for me to focus on my schoolwork, so that I could do the best I possibly could and be able to make a positive impact on the world both during my college experience and after I graduate.

I would donate that money to the homless women and their children at the center in downtown Atlanta. I have been there a numerous amount of times and all I have to give them is the limited amount of food that my family have prepaired for them. The children are the sweetest! All they want is food, and maybe a toy. I normally have to bring extra pairs of shoes, because they will ask for mines, or my shirt. I woulkd just enjoy being a blessing to them. My family dosnt have the type of money just to throw around, so if I had that type of money. The things I would be able to supply them with would exceed anything they ever imagined.
October 26th, 2009 | #
I would definitely use it to pay for my education and if i had extra money after, and if it was allowed, i would definitely give it away to other people who need it for their education!
October 26th, 2009 | #
For starters – I’d probably cry and jump around everywhere! I am a twin, and sending two students at once to college is VERY expensive. This scholarship will help me to keep furthering my education without the stresses that money causes and I can focus on being a great student!

I am raising two kids right now and am currently facing financial difficulties and am being evicted out of our apartment due to not having the money to pay my rent. It would be a blessing to me and my family! I am beginning college in January to try to better my situation.

My mother is a single mother and my father helps when he can but due to the economy he no longer has a job. I worked two jobs over the summer to help pay for college but still was not able to raise enough.

With that much amount of Scholarship money, all I could think of is using that much for my college tuition, and book etc. I’m a single child but currently living with a cousin of mine who’s in college. My parents has been supporting her college tuition and, when its my turn to go to college I know we’ll have money issues. So Winning this Scholarship money would really give me a chance to go farther in school, thanks so much.

October 25th, 2009 | #
I am only a junior in High School, but I have big dreams for college and big dreams to help my families. Unfortunately, due to my families, my parents can’t afford a lot of money for me to go college So this $50,000 scholarship would really help to make my dreams come true and help my families out. Even though, the scholarship would not pay for my entire college tuition seeing as I want to go to University of San Diego, every little bit helps and this is not a small amount of cash. My parents has always dreamed about me going to University of San Diego and I want to help make my parents dreams come true, too.

Winning a scholarship of any amount would help to ease my financial burdens. Currently, I’m a single college student working 2-3 jobs to pay for school. Most companies don’t offer scholarships for single people; however, my need for money is so great $500.00 would be enough for me.If I were to receive 50,000 I would quit working and use the money to continue paying my way through school.
October 25th, 2009 | #
If I were to get a scholarship it would ultimatly help me and my family. I have 5 other siblings with me, the second youngest, still having to put my sister through college too, this scholarship would help out my parents in such a big way it’s imaginable.

October 24th, 2009 | #
If I won a scholarship, I’d be extremely grateful. It would take a large stress off of my family putting me through school. My parents have been working a ton of overtime hours to earn the money to help put me through school.

I would split it with my twin so we could both go to college.
October 24th, 2009 | #

My case is not unique given the state of the economy. I would use my 50k to pay for college. My mother and father have suffered unexpected loss of income. Which has forced them to foreclose on our house, a long with many other sacrifices. Including forcing me to have to pay for the remainder of my college tuition. Being an out of state student at ASU, this has taken a giant toll on me. I am so close to accomplishing one of my biggest lifetime goals, and now that is being compromised due to unexpected events.
October 24th, 2009 | #
I would go to college and try to get a degree that would let me help save peoples lives. It would be very rewarding.

What would i do with a scholarship? I’d use it to get a B.A. in English so i could work in a library or bookstore and introduce people to my favorite thing: books! Reading is too important for people not to care. So yeah, i’d use the money for tuition, books, and other things. College is too expensive to finance on your own.

It would be amazing if I were to win a $50,000 scholarship. My mom is self-employed and my dad has been laid off for the past seven months. We’ve always been a little on the poor side, but now it’s gotten worse. I’ve always wanted to become a veterinarian, and it requires money, that I, simply, do not have.

October 22nd, 2009 | #
I would be thankful to God for giving me the chance to return to school at the age of 53. I would like to go into teaching and recreate the dream from 35 years ago that I gave up because I decided love was more important. I want to have both. I could go back to school and not be a burden to my husband and family.
October 22nd, 2009 | #
If I had $50,000 O would pay for my tuition costs for Graduate School. I am a 40year old woman, seeking to continue my education. I finally found my passion, later in life and that is Art Therapy. I can be helping others therapeutically and creatively. Isn’t that what life is about, giving back?
October 22nd, 2009 | #

October 22nd, 2009 | #
If I had a 50k scholarship I would use it to pay for college. I was supposed to enroll in the fall but I couldn’t allocate enough funds and without some type of grant or loan I still won’t be in school in the spring.

With $50,000 I would work towards my eventual goal of having a dual major in Psychology and Philosophy. It is my life’s dream to be able to work and be able to have a dual P.H.D in both areas. It would go towards buying a laptop for school, and for tuition to get into school. I’m hoping for something like this because I can’t afford college on my own. Any kind of financial assistance would be amazing
October 22nd, 2009 | #
If I won a scholarship I would graduate without being in debt. This would be a huge weight off my shoulders. I come from a small town and if I don’t have money when I graduate I need to go back there. I would be more likely to find a job in the city and going back home to save money would just set me back.
October 22nd, 2009 | #

I would budget correctly to the point everything that I needed educational wise would be all payed for and all I would have to do is work and go to school. If I were to win a $50,000 scholarship I’d definitely put it towards the tuition cost of getting into a private school rather than a public school. My parent’s income isn’t much, so finding ways to help them out really makes a huge difference. I would like to go to a private school because i have a Christian background and enjoy surrounding myself with other Christians. The only way possible for me to get into the school that I wish to get into is by applying for scholarships and getting financial aid. I truly am trying my hardest to help my parents out because they didn’t go to college and neither did my older sister, so I am the first one in my family to even think about college. This is a huge deal for my entire family because we definitely don’t have a lot of money, so I would really appreciate as much financial support as possible.
October 21st, 2009 | #
I will be so happy if I win the scholarship. The scholarship will help me out through my education, especially since I am the first person in my family attending college. I am 19 years old and I come from a single parent home so, it is difficult to afford supplies and books with a small income.
October 21st, 2009 | #

I am attending the Berklee College of Music in January. It would be a blessing to be able to apply this scholarship to my tuition rather than taking out loans.
September 29th, 2009 | #
If I had $50,000 I would IMMEDIATELY pay for tuition costs, laptop for school, books and any other supplies I needed for classes. Then, it would go toward any other expenses concerning college, such as living arrangments, as well as loans taken out in the name of education. I’m doing all this without help from family and currently work part time. It’s only enough for current living expenses, so I’ve truly got my fingers crossed for any financial assistance I can get.
September 29th, 2009 | #
I woulde use the money to help me with my expenses for college, and things I need to be sucessful in college: such as school supplies, dorm room items, and mabe a computer

I entered college in 2005 after a 20 year break to finish my degree. I went back to college because I had head injury and the doctor said that he could not help me any more, I had hit the wall. I was determined to prove him wrong. It had taken me 6 months to learn to drive, I lost several years of memory of my life. I lost time I had spent with my children, I had try train my brain. I went back to scool and got my degree. I was able to work for two years before getting laid off. I have $25,000 in debit from that. I have now gone back to school to get my masters in order to try to get a better paying job so that I will have more options. The job that I had have so many lay offs that they have now lowered the salary, that by the time everything like taxes and child care is taken out, I would end up paying them to work. I need to be able to provide my family. The money would be used to pay off my loans.
September 25th, 2009 | #
I’m 17 and headed to AIP next fall and the price tag that comes with it is a scary amount of money but will be well worth it! If I won $50,000 I would definetly put it towards furthering my education!

If i won that 50,000 dollars i would put that money towards my education at Western Michigan University. I plan on becoming a Music Therapist and that’s my dream job. Music is my passion and not being able to pursue that dream becuase of finances would break me.
September 24th, 2009 | #
I am only a sophomore in high school, but I have big dreams for college and big dreams to help the world. Unfortunately, due to my three siblings, our college funds are meager and so, this $50,000 scholarship would really help to make my dreams come true and help make other’s dreams come true when I take my place in the world as an adult. Even though the scholarship would not pay for my entire college tuition seeing as I want to go to Stanford, every little bit helps and this is not a small amount of cash. My dad has always dreamed about me going to Stanford and I want to help make his dreams come true too.

The $50,000 would be the best thing for me right now. I am 51 years old and attempting to recoup from a bankrupsy. Losing our house and everything was very tramatizing. I am trying to get into nursing school and the only stopping me is of course the finances. I can’t qualify for Pell Grant or any Federal Funding. So I need loans. With the bankrupsy and my credit is building from the toilet, no one will look at me. I am living with 3 disabled family members and trying to take care of them and well… Ithe $50,000 would go for my $34,000 nurses program.
September 22nd, 2009 | #
To receive $50,000 would be a true blessing. Considering my family’s financial crisis within the past year, 2008, I am in need to come up with money in order to get to college. Last year was the worst year, financially, because we lost our home, I moved to 7 different houses in a matter of 8 months; we got our truck repo and my parents still worked their way to help my two older siblings pay for their college finances. I am currently a family of 8 because we have temporary custody of 3 children, who also have family hardships. Throughout all the hardships, my family has stayed a family and I believe that’s all that really matters. This scholarship would really help me to fulfill my dream of going to a four year university such as San Diego State University or California State University of San Marcos. I would definitely put this scholarship toward my tuition and books. This scholarship would be a true blessing for my family.
September 22nd, 2009 | #

A $50,000 scholarship?! That is the opportunity I have been praying for. Mercer University in Macon is my dream school. With that money, not only would it get me into the school of my dreams with $9,000 left over to go towards a laptop, it would be the jumpstart to a lifetime of success and an impact left in the world. I am going to major in Business Marketing and with my proactive lifestyle and positive outlooks, Leah Coquerel will not be a name left forgotten in history.

Winning a $50,000 scholarship would pay for my entire bachelor’s degree studies at the University of Oklahoma. Being that OU does not give scholarships for cheerleading all I can depend on is online research and my strong academics. After attending OU and majoring in political science and graduating in three years, I hope to attend New York University for law school. This scholarship would help me achieve all of the goals I have set since the 8th grade.

If I was fortunate enough to win a scholarship, I could prove to all those who said I wasn’t smart enough to go through college wrong. I’m currently in my freshmen year of college and tuition has come out of my pocket. I also was laid off from my job and unfortunately, can’t afford my books for this semester. I would be more than thankful for the opportunity to continue higher education.

I don’t think every person is college material. I know that I am not, but if I could get a scholarship I would attend Tulsa Welding School. I am going to the Master welding program, but I would like to take the Associate’s degree program. I would then be a welding inspector.

If I win the grant, I will keep the money in the bank to make sure I will not spend that on anything else than on school involved things. I plan to go to four year university, and I know it will cost much more than I am expecting. If I really win this opportunity, I will try to learn more seriously about finances. I wish I can be the lucky one!!!

If I were to win the scholarship, I would definitely use it to fund my dream career goal. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor in Science with a major in Business Management and ORganizational Leadership but I am seriously considering a change in major to Biochemical Engineering with a double major in genetics and biotechnology. I would like to someday find a way to reset our genetic code that enables our bodies to heal overnight and to regrow limbs. It would be my way of improving the human condition.

I could do so much with $50,000. I could have my tuition and supplies paid for the remainder of my schooling, including a new computer to do my projects. I could find a new place to live that would have plenty of space for me to focus on school work. I have a small student loan that I could easily pay off and put some toward my car as well. Mostly, I would just like to have money put back in case of any kind of emergency. Right now, it takes all I have to pay my bills every month and I worry about extra expenses.

If i were to have a $50,000 scholarship i would use it to finish school. I am still going to school and my financial aid can cover some of the costs, but it will take me longer to graduate. I could use the $50,00 also so that i don’t accrue too much student loans to pay off. The less my loans are the less i have to worry later in life. I am the first of my family to go to college, I would also like to be the first to graduate from college too. My younger brother and sisters all look up to me. I would like to show them its possible to do what my family calls the impossible.

I would use a $50,000 scholarship to pay my way through college such as tuition, textbooks, dorm fees; etc. Since both of my parents are on disability and have set-incomes, I can’t rely on them for help on college. I have been looking at several sites with available scholarships, but it seems like my chances are slim to none. I’m really hoping the FAFSA form will pull me through. $50,000 would be the prayer I need to further my education.

if i had $50,000 I would do a lot of different things with that money. First it would depend onmy current situation if my family and I were in a bad situation then we would use the money to improve the situation and our way of life.
